How To Count Words For Classified Ads -
Hyphenated words count as two words.
(i.e. low-budget = 2 words)

Phone numbers (or email address) count as one word.

Websites count as one word.

Street address counts as one word.
(i.e. 123 Main St. = one word.)

City, state, & zip code count as one word EACH
(i.e. Los Angeles, CA 91235 = 3 words.)

P.O. Box with number counts as THREE words.
(i.e. P.O. Box 427 = 3 words.)

Things to know before placing your ad:
1.Most newspapers will print the first few words of your ad in bold type or capital letters.
2.Because of the extensive network of papers involved, tearsheets cannot be provided. However, National Advertising Agency ensures that your ad is properly placed throughout the network.
3.Individual papers reserve the right to refuse to run your ad or to reject your ad if it doesn't meet their standards. We cannot guarantee 100% placement (typical placement 80% - 90%.)
